Given the lifespan of the factory overflow bottle, it seems almost as though Nissan had planned for them to decompose and crumble within a minimal amount of time. The new one on our project S13 only lasted about a year of inconsistent driving before it became brittle and eventually split.
With a replacement price of around $250 a pop, I can see exactly why people arent keen and excited to form a beeline outside their local Nissan dealer for a new item either.
Fortunately local company ASE Turbo, aka Autosport Engineering, in Adelaide has created an off-the-shelf replacement in aluminum that will not only last forever, but is also cheaper than an OEM replacement and provides a neat touch to give your engine bay a tougher look.
